The San Francisco 49ers Are Down But Not Out

The San Francisco 49ers have had a bad run of luck lately. They have been without some very key players due to injuries. Star running back Christian McCaffrey has been out all season and WR Brandon Aiyuk just went down for the season. The 49ers have just 3 wins compared to 4 losses on the season and things are looking bleak.

The good news is that if you are still a believer that this team can win it all, there is a great deal of value to be had at sportsbooks. They are now +1000 odds (10/1) to win it all and that means you can risk $100 and win $1000 should they pull it together and win.

They still have much of the talent that saw them make it to the Super Bowl last year. Some of their injured players are expected to start coming back to the team soon. It’s safe to say that they are not in panic mode, just yet. If they somehow drop their next few games then it is safe to say that they should indeed start panicking.

The team to beat in the NFL is the very team which beat them in the Super Bowl back in February. Of course I a referring to the Kansas City Chiefs and their star quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs are currently undefeated and just defeated this same 49ers team this past Sunday.

This week San Francisco will play host to NFC rivals Dallas Cowboys. This should make for a very entertaining game and will be a boost for whichever team wins. The Cowboys themselves have been dealing with injuries as well as inconsistent play from their star players. They are just 3-3 on the season and many of their fans have thrown up their hands and capitulated. Star QB Dak Prescott has thrown just 8 touchdowns and 6 interceptions on the season. This is truly a make or break year for this quarterback.  In the past he has been able to put up stellar stats but not make it far into the playoffs. This year it’s looking like he will do neither.

Only the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers, two of the seven NFC teams that participated in additional football the previous season, would do so again if the postseason began tomorrow. We won’t remind you of the Packers’ first-round playoff performance. It should be mentioned that all four of the NFC North’s clubs would be in by now.

The new-look Chicago Bears are ahead of schedule and currently sit at 4-2, while the Minnesota Vikings, of course, just dropped their first game of the season in an instant classic against the Lions this past week (nobody could have predicted that).

The Atlanta Falcons, who have the same 4-3 record as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but own the head-to-head tiebreaker, presently rule the NFC South, which was up for grabs this season.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys, who had qualified for the playoffs the previous season, were virtually the only two teams given a legitimate shot at the postseason going into this year. However, the Washington Commanders, who improved to 5-2 with a victory over the Carolina Panthers in Week 7, currently represent the division in the NFC playoff picture.
